About Me

Hello!  Thank you for interest in my blog.  I can tell you're curious so let me share a little of my story.  I currently live in The Windy City (Chicago, Illinois) and work at Northwestern University (Evanston, Illinois). Most of my free time is spent advocating for a more sustainable food system.  But I also like to fill that time with reading, gardening, spending time with my husband (Marty), taking care of our two dogs (Daisy May and Truman), learning new farm skills, dreaming of our future farm, and interning at the Noble Horse Theater (Old Town, Chicago).

In January of 2012 along with 18 partner organizations I facilitated the founding of NU Sustainable Food Talks at Northwestern University.  NU Sustainable Food Talks (NU Food Talks) is a community program, a coalition formed of students, faculty, staff and community members, whose mission is to strengthen our sustainable food systems network, our knowledge base and find ways together to maximize our outreach. It is our goal to bring stakeholders from all parts of the food system together in order to learn of each others' challenges in making our food system sustainable and to develop action points on an individual level and initiatives to be implemented by partnering organizations.
